Eliminating bags, and especially dark circles, is not an easy task. However, there are many practices that we can do to lower them as much as possible. Keep reading and discover how to get the illuminated look you've always dreamed of.
- Check your diet.
The first step to saying goodbye to dark circles is to incorporate nutritious and anti-inflammatory foods into our daily diet. Fresh fruits, vegetables, whole grains, lean proteins and healthy fats will bring visible improvements to the skin around our eyes.
- Vitamin C
In your quest to eliminate dark circles, vitamin C will be your best ally. Vitamin C is the most effective ingredient when you want to illuminate the skin, which is why we recommend using patches or eye contour products that are based on ascorbic acid . Serums like ORANGE by Nicole Ravachi Beauty will do wonders for your complexion and help minimize the appearance of dark circles around your eyes.
- Cold and compression therapy
The first thing they recommend to minimize any type of swelling is to apply a cold compress to the inflamed area. And of course, it works fantastically, even for the eyes. However, cold compression therapies can also help eliminate dark circles under the eyes by reducing the dilated blood vessels under the eyes. Use a sleeping mask, your jade roller or simply some ice cubes and get rid of dark circles and bags.
- Color correction
Color correction is key to concealing the appearance of dark circles. But before you apply your favorite concealer, take a look at the shades you're trying to hide. If you see colors like dark blue or gray, apply a warm concealer like peach first. However, if you see more pink/red tones, then you need to counteract them with a yellow or slightly green concealer. Using a thin layer of the correct shade before applying your daily concealer or foundation is much more effective in eradicating the appearance of dark circles.
- SLEEP
We all know that poor sleeping habits cause dark circles, but why? Lack of sleep intensifies dryness, making the skin under your eyes appear thinner...and thinner skin equals more visible blood cells. We recommend getting a full 7 to 9 hours of sleep and lying on your back with your head slightly elevated to help minimize the chance of dark circles and puffiness.
